Registration for food at the BBQ is now closed.
A few reminders:
We look forward to seeing you at the BBQ!
Our “Care Ministry - Parish Outreach” focuses on YOU, our Parishioners. We want all of our Parishioners to know and experience the community here at St. Michael Parish; we are family. Our goal is to reach out to you, our Parishioners, like family, demonstrating care, concern and being present in your lives during the good times and the challenging times.
Ministries that focus on our Parish outreach also include our pastoral care - to the sick/hospitalized and those confined at home, including pastoral care to those in Long Term Care and Retirement Homes. We also have an impactful Grief Support Group (Heartache to Healing Grief Support Group) and our Act II – Separated and Divorced Support Group…and there are more.
Keep us informed - We want to celebrate the happy times with you and your family and be there for you during times of sorrow and when life becomes challenging. Let us know of any life changes that are impacting you. This could be celebrating a milestone birthday, marriage, birth of a child or adoption, a new grandchild, retirement. It can also be the loss of a loved one, hospitalization, feeling isolated/alone, moving, or job loss. We want to draw people closer to God.
We want you, our parishioners, to know that there is community here at St. Michael Parish.
Pictured below: Our June 2023 Parish Pilgrimage to the Carmel of St. Joseph. Our morning consisted of Mass, celebrated by Father Jamroz, visiting with the sisters and hearing about their calling and day to day living at the monastery, followed by shopping and lunch.
Our "Care Ministry - Community Outreach" has informally been in place for many, many years. Parishioners have always been very generous of their time and expertise to help support our broader community - within our Parish boundaries, Waterloo region, nation-wide and Worldwide initiatives.
We look for opportunities for our Parishioners to get involved - to support and build the community around us, but also this provides an opportunity to build our own Parish community as we get to know one another as family.
Our Parish’s Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and Social Justice Committee along with our Parish Community Outreach team are now working closely together to reduce duplication of volunteerism across our 3 groups and improve our impact within our community.
As group volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved in our community become available they will be communicated in our Parish bulletin.
Feel free to contact our Parish office with any questions, to get more information, or to put your name forward to volunteer with fellow Parishioners.
